Of course I didn't at the moment research this in depth, but maybe someone from the top of their head knows if the good sounds are somehow available, or maybe are still restrained by commercial rules ? The sounds on the internet don't contain these types sounds unless I'm really mistaking. A little reverb or effects, and the instrument simulations and sound effects would work quite well in actual music (I monitored with a good quality HiFi amp and medium sized Jamo speakers, which played CDs fine). I had the actual DX7 (who didn't who was a pro at the time, I suppose, I wasn't), with the debated keyboard, and I loved it because it was sensitive and playable for most types of sound, a sentiment often not shared by others.Īs to make a little clear what I like ROM-wise compared with not-so-great software:Īnyhow, I had these additional sounds from a club at the time, I made some sounds, and got nice sounds, and I had a number of commercially bought sounds, which I could pick individually from a cassette tape with exemplified use of the patches, and they were good. I know, I know, there are about half a million of them on the internet, well about 10,000 last time I took a look, but they're not the sounds I'd like to put in some emulation software.
